Securly
Summit Hill School District 161 uses Securly to keep students safe on their school-issued iPad devices. As part of the solution, we have given you access to the parent portal called Home accessed via the Securly app.
First, download the appropriate Securly Home app for your device from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Once you install the app, open it and enter your school registered email address. It would be the email address that your welcome email was sent to. Then tap the “Get instant access” button.
Explore and Configure
Securly Home lets you access your account information from anywhere in real time. You can navigate and explore different views of your child's online safety.
- Activity
Get a real-time view of your child's online activity.
- Flagged
Scans social media, sites visited, web searches, and flags items that indicate bullying, self-harm, or suicide.
- Rules
You can configure specific filters when your child’s device is off campus. You can also pause the internet on your child’s device with the tap of a finger.

How do parents sign into the Parent Portal?
- Via the Securly Home app
A welcome email was sent to parents with a link to the Securly Home app. Parents should download the Securly Home app on their device and log in using their email ID on file with the school. The Securly Home app requires the parent to log in only once.

- Via the kid’s activity report email
Securly sends parents a weekly activity report email for their kids. This email contains a direct link to the Parent Portal. If you are using the SecurlyHome app, please open the activity report on the same device and click the direct link for a seamless login experience.
- Via the Securly website
The parent can navigate to https://www.securly.com/parent-login and log in to their Parent Portal using the email ID on file with the school.
I have multiple kids. How do I determine which item in the Activity tab belongs to which child?
The child's email address is listed beside each item in the activity feed, and is in chronological order. To see an individual child’s activity, simply type their email address into the search bar at the top and hit enter.
What data does Securly collect?
Securly monitors your child’s online activity while at school, and off-campus if the child is using a school-issued device that is filtered by Securly. Securly collects the school-issued email address, public IP address (available to anyone on the Internet), visited websites, searched terms, YouTube videos, and social media posts (if social media is allowed by the school).
