Please make sure to check the packaging - it should be packaged in a nut free environment. Wow!  The weeks seem to be going by way too quickly!

You can view your child's reading test on line.  You need to check into Think Central - click on "My Scores" - you can see how they did if you click on the test.  It will show you what answer they chose and the correct answer.  We are learning how to follow the directions at this time. :)

Story for the Week:  Teacher’s Pets

Genre:  Realistic Fiction

This can be found on line - Lesson 5 in Think Central

Vocabulary Words: wonderful, noises, quiet, sprinkled, share, noticed, bursting, and suddenly

High Frequency Words: both, cold, eat, find, green, little, long, says, table, and we

Phonics – r, l, s

Language Skills: Nouns - making them plural (adding "s" or "es" or changing the "y" to an "i" and adding "es", and, changing the "f" to a "v" and adding an "es", and then we have the irregular nouns - like child - children,  man - men, etc...)

Spelling words: Blends 

spin, clap, grade, swim, place, last, test, skin, drag, glide, just, stage

 

 

Math:  We started Chapter 2!  Place Value, Base Ten Blocks and reading numbers.  There are some great games on ABCYa to help your child with these skills.  Also, we started our Rocket Math!  We need to practice 1+2, 2+1, 1+3, and 3+1

Science:  We are learning how animals and plants depend on each other.  We are watching some great videos to go along with the lessons.  You can view these on STEMscopes.  I am planning a test early in the week.  Our next lesson will be about plants.

Social Studies:  We will be discussing the Pilgrims Life Style this week.  We are learning about the Mayflower and the life they had during their voyage over the Atlantic Ocean.
