We will continue working on the following skills in reading.
The skills we will work on this week are the following: vocabulary, comprehension, summarizing, and sequencing.
We will not have vocabulary words this week. We will continue working on vocabulary skills.
Phonics
We will be working on consonant blends -spr, str, and thr words.
Spelling
We will not have new spelling words this week. We will continue working on our word wall words.
Language
We will be reviewing Proper Nouns - naming the days of the month.
We are going to begin our Young Author stories this week. All work will be done at school.
Math
We finished Solid shapes this week. Please continue to work with them on their geometric shapes.
We will start on Fractions. We will be making fraction cards at school to practice with.
Vocabulary words for this section will be unit fractions, parts of a set, numerator, and denominator.
Science
We will be finishing our unit about Habitats for plants and animals on Tuesday. The study guide went home.
You can always follow along without the book online. "ThinkCentral" is up and running. You should have your password at this time, if not, email me.
Our next unit will be about "Our Earth".
Our vocabulary words will be the following: weathering, erosion, volcano, and boulder.
Homework
Please check your child’s folder nightly. Homework is due back the next day. If homework is not sent home please continue to read and practice math facts.
