This week in the classroom:
Reading: Our story is titled The Talent Show. Skills covered include; author's purpose, using decoding, phonics, summarizing, compound words, sequencing, prefixes, suffixes, and abbreviations
Spelling test on Friday over the following words:
pause, lost, dawn, long, taught, crawl, soft, because, law, song, frost, lawn, hawk, laundry, author, sausage, cafeteria, mustard, service, tablecloth
Math: We will begin Ch. 6/Graphing and Analyzing Data. We will also begin working on multiplication, which is included in Ch. 8. We will skipping around a bit in order to cover all skills before ISAT.
Science: We are continuing Unit 1, focusing on animals (ch.3). Students did a fantastic job on their wild animal reports! I really enjoyed hearing and learning about all of the different wild animals.
We will be taking our science test over animals next week.
Social Studies: We are continuing with Unit 1 in social studies. This first unit covers continents and oceans, as well as communities in which we live. Please practice labeling the continents with your child. They will have to know each continent on the test. Test on Friday, Dec. 5.
Please send in box tops and campbells soup labels to help raise money for our school!
