Dear Parents, It is hard to believe December is just around the corner! The children did an awesome job on their reading theme test and high frequency words. I can tell they are practicing at home! Keep up the great work! Don’t forget we will have a dictated sentence for spelling each week. We try to use many spelling words and words on the word wall when we create our sentences. Graded spelling tests may look a little different. I am giving 10 points for the sentence and 10 for the words. If your child gets challenge words they automatically receive 10 points for their words, even if they make mistakes with the challenge words. Words for next week: High Frequency Words – city, house, sometimes, take, there Spelling Words – far farm arm art cart card chin inch live soon Notes for helping with Gingerbread Houses are due Tuesday, December 2nd. Donations are due by Thursday, December 4th. We will be making gingerbread houses Friday, December 5th. If you are coming to help please plan on being here about 1:30. You will go to the lunch room after checking in. Thanks in advance to all of you who are able to come in and help! Gingerbread people are due Monday, December 8th. Have fun creating your gingerbread person! Please don’t forget Math-a-Thon money is due Wednesday, December 3rd. Our field trip is on Wednesday, December 10th. Thank you for all of the parents who volunteered to chaperone. Unfortunately, we can only take two parents. Mrs. Molinare and Mrs. Perch will be joining us. We should have another field trip later in the year. We may need your help then! I wish all of you a safe, healthy and relaxing Thanksgiving. I am thankful for many things. One thing I am truly thankful for the wonderful families I work with. Enjoy your holiday together!
Sincerely, Mrs. Joyce Chakos :)
