I hope you have had a relaxing and enjoyable summer with family and friends! I am looking forward to an exciting school year! This year we will continue to provide a successful reading improvement program. Below is a description of what we will be doing with specific grade levels. As always, best practices and interventions will be specific to the needs of our students.
Grade 1~ Reading Recovery
The Reading Recovery teacher serves students in a one-on-one program for 30 minutes per day, in addition to reading classroom instruction. Students engage in reading, writing, and word work using leveled books, magnetic letters, and journals.
Grade 1 through 4~ Literacy Groups
The reading improvement teacher serves students in a small group setting. Students engage in reading, writing, and word work using scientifically-based reading interventions and best practices. Students will improve their strategies and skills and their progress will be monitored to track their improvement and success.
