Ms. Chinski's Newsletter Reminders: -Our book fair is this Monday, November 17.
-On Tuesday, November 18, Family Reading Night is from 6:30-8:00P.M. There will be a special guest doing activities with families at 7:00P.M. and the Book Fair will be open during that time.
-Tuesday, November 18, students have Hot Lunch.
-Friday, November 21, students have Treat Day. Here is our tentative schedule for the week of November 17-21
Reading: This week we will be reading "Stealing Home" from our reader. The story is about a boy that discovers his life is beginning to change when an aunt comes to stay with him. The boy, Thomas, learns about dealing with change and adapting to new situations.
Spelling: Lesson 12 1. sheleves 2. sheep 3. teeth 4. elves 5. mice 6. calves 7. spacecraft 8. jeans 9. feet 10. women 11. men 12. geese 13. salmon 14. series 15. scissors 16. halves 17. oxen 18. crises 19. knives 20. thieves
Language Arts: We are learning abou different genres of literature. Also, we will be learning about helping verbs and when to use verbs in the past, present, and future.
Math: We are continuing with Chapter 3: Multiplication and Division. We will be taking the test over the chapter on Thursday. The study guide will be distributed on Tuesday. Just a reminder, our timed tests are every Monday and Friday.
Social Studies: We are continuing with Chapter 4: Along the Northeast Coast. We will be discussing the importance of trade between different regions.
Science: We just took our test over the formation of landforms, and now, we are moving on to Chapter 11: Matter and Its Properties.
