Newsletter for the week of November 17th – November 21
The Family Turkey Project turned out to be a big success. Everyone did such an amazing job with the turkeys. I hope that you had a wonderful time working as a family!
Tuesday night is Family Reading Night. Please bring your families and join us at Indian Trail for reading fun! The book fair will also be opened to you and your family.
Please encourage your child to read their AR book over the weekend. On Mondays we have computer time and the students have the opportunity to take an AR test.

Reading: Our Story this week is a play. We will be performing the play in the classroom. The story is entitled, “Johnny Appleseed”.
Spelling: Here are the Spelling Words

English: We will be taking our Unit 3 test. The test will be over nouns, we have done a lot of practice in class. We will also start talking about Young Authors stories.
Math: We are starting a new Chapter. We are on chapter 7 which all about shapes. Students will learn about different shapes.
Science: We are on Chapter 3 “Plants” we are learning about the parts of a plant. Students had the opportunity to see how a plant gets its food when we put carnations in food coloring water and watched them change colors. Our vocabulary words are: stems, leaves, roots, and flowers. Students made flashcards for this chapter and were to put them in a zip lock and then in their take home folder.
Social Studies: We are continuing to work on Chapter 3. Our vocabulary words are: income, taxes, factory, consumer, producer, and transportation. Students made flashcards for this chapter and were to put them in a zip lock and then in their take home folder. We will be having our Social Studies test on Friday
