Sharon Heiden - Language Arts 7th  (Send e-mail)

Welcome! I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer and I am looking forward to meeting all of my new students.

Students will have me for double periods to accomodate reading and English. All of my class material are in conjunction with the Illinois Learning Standards.

In English we will be covering all the parts of speech, and students will be responsible for numerous writing assignments.

In reading we will be studying many strategies to improve comprehension. We also will be working on various strategies in preparation for the ISAT test and doing a novel study.

Honors reading covers the same reading strategies and same strategies for the ISAt but on a higher level. The students will be responsible for their own learning by having the opportunity to develop their own projects and exams for assessment. They will also have novel studies incorporated into study.

Homework and class participation is very important as well as their vocabulary lesson which is due every other Friday.

Any questions feel free to call me at 1-815-469-4330 between tbe hours of 9:30 and 10:00 A.M.
