CLASS RESPONSIBILITIES
1. You are here to learn. It is your responsibility to set your learning goals at the highest and most realistic levels.
2. Everything you do in this class is to promote good learning for yourself and everyone in the classroom. Be an active thinker and a good listener. Take part in class and group discussions; being a participant is much better than being a spectator. Let me know if you need help.
3. Good manners and standard acts of courtesies are essential for a workable classroom. MAJOR COURTESY= RESPECT:
*Listen carefully during instruction time. *Raise your hand and wait to be called on to speak. *Listen to each other very carefully ....as you wish to be listened to. *Keep negative comments and personal criticism of classmates to yourself. *Speak politely at all times: communicate with courtesy, dignity, and pride.
4. It is your responsibility to have all assignments completed on time and to be prepared mentally for the day's lesson. You must have your textbook, science folder, assignment notebook, paper, pencil and pen everyday.
5. You must be in your seat when the bell rings or you will be marked tardy. Five tardies will earn you a detention.
I am delighted that your son/daughter is enrolled in my science class. We can all look forward to many exciting and rewarding experiences as the year progresses.
I firmly believe that life-long success depends on self-discipline and I have developed a classroom discipline plan that gives every student the opportunity to manage his or her own behavior. Your child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for academic growth. Therefore, this classroom discipline plan will be in effect at all times.
