Jennifer Trotta - Social Studies 7th (Send e-mail)
Welcome back! I am looking forward to having a successful and productive year with your child during Social Studies Class.
Social Studies Syllabus Social Studies Curriculum- A student's grades are based on tests, quizzes, homework, worksheets, assessment questions, cooperative group work and occasional projects. Students are expected to turn in all work on time and complete it to the best of their ability.
Grade Weighting: Grades are weighted in the following manner in the social studies department: Category 1 Assignments= 45% Major Assessments (examples: tests, projects, etc.) Category 2 Assignments= 40% Minor Assessments (examples: quizzes, some class and homework assignments, etc.) Category 3 Assignments= 15% Practice Assessments (examples: comprehension questions, daily journals, in-class and homework assignments)
Social Studies Homework- It is my belief that homework develops responsibility and good study habits. It also helps me to determine students progress. I expect all assignments to be completed on time and done neatly.
Late Homework- If students do not turn in their homework on time, they will have until the next day to turn it in. The highest grade they can receive on late work is 50%. If the work is not turned in on the next day, they will receive a Zero.
School Rules: 1. Be on time for class. 2. Be prepared for class. 3. Raise hand and wait to be called on. 4. Follow all school handbook rules. 5. Make sure that you are seated and ready to begin class when the bell rings.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at school. You may also email me at: jtrotta@summithill.org.
Sincerely, Miss Trotta
