Hello Rogus Families,
Welcome to Rogus School! As the principal of Rogus School it is my pleasure to serve the Rogus School community. It is my desire to create a school culture where we value acceptance, belonging and community. We want to create a school where children and adults are accepted for who they are as people. A place where each individual person feels like they belong and a school where we celebrate children and enjoy the community this brings. Our mission is to soar toward academic excellence and personal growth. Come join us as we celebrate the child, develop a spirit of acceptance, belonging and community while challenging our students academically.
In July of 2000 I was hired as the principal of Rogus School. During that time I was involved in the construction of the school, selection of the staff, and developing the parent community organization that is known as RESCO- Rogus Elementary School Community Organization. From 2000-2012 I was the principal of Rogus School. From 2012-2014 I served as the principal of Hilda Walker Intermediate School. Starting in 2013 I returned to Rogus School as the principal. It is great to be back at Rogus School and I am excited to continue to serve the school community I helped start when our doors first opened.
Over the years, Rogus School has gone through a variety of programming changes. Some of these changes include the kindergarten program being a school within a school with a separate principal. Currently Rogus School is now one school with early childhood, preschool, kindergarten and first through fourth grade student.
In June of 2017 our school board hired Mrs. Tracy Bulfer as our Assistant Principal. Mr. Bulfer comes to Rogus School with 12 years of experience as a second grade teacher and an instructional coach. Her experience as an Instructional Coach and working in an elementary school setting is a great benefit to our students and staff.
On behalf of the entire staff, I want to thank you for visiting our school website. We desire to create a learning environment for your child that will help them excel to reach their full potential during their elementary years. If Mrs. Bulfer or I can be of any assistance to you, please feel free to contact us at 815 464-2034. Mr. Ruffalo email@example.com and Mrs. Bulfer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
