Parent Organizations
ITSCOWELCOME! ITSCO stands for Indian Trail School Community Organization and our goal is to instill a sense of community between the faculty, students, residents, and local businesses. ITSCO will hold meetings on September 14th, November 16th, January 11th, March 15th, and May 10th at 3:30 p.m. in the Library at Indian Trail School. Meetings are for everyone! We welcome all parents who want to be involved with their child's school to come and share their ideas. Children are welcome to attend.
Our Fall Fundraiser begins in late August. We will be using Market Days giftware and gift-wrapping paper catalog and will also be selling Entertainment Books to raise funds. Look for packets in your child's backpack! We also have Market Day the fourth Tuesday of each month. During the Spring, we will be having a cookie dough fundraiser. With these four successful fundraising programs we are able to provide an indoor Fall Fest, Winter Parties in the classroom, and have an indoor Winter Carnival in March, Field Day in May, and a 4th Grade Party for our students leaving Indian Trail! We are also able to provide two to three enrichment assemblies for the students, give the teachers a well-deserved "Teacher Appreciation Week," purchase supplies, and buy equipment for gym class and recess. We will also be helping support the new PBIS program. These fundraisers also help in paying for 5 additional school clubs for the kids.
ITSCO coordinates Hot Lunch and Treat Days once a month that you may purchase for your child. We will also have a Spring and Fall Book Fair and Birthday Book Club. In December we have Santa's Secret Workshop. This very popular workshop lets students shop for gifts for their families and friends. Look for ITSCO notices about events throughout the school year.
As you can see, ITSCO has many events planned. To make these events successful, we need volunteers--PLEASE stop by the ITSCO table at Open House for information and to sign up! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact any of the Board Members.

Volunteer Opportunity in Your Child’s Classroom 2009-2010Dear Parents:
The Art Volunteer Parents at Indian Trail have completed a fourth successful year, bringing more art exposure to students than they would normally get in their regular schedule. Art exposure: raises creativity levels and keeps imagination alive through adulthood. Most of all, this program is fun for kids and they love it! Currently, Indian Trail offers this program to 2nd – 4th graders, and we would like to expand Art in the Classroom to the first graders for the 2009/2010 school year. In order for your child to experience Art in the Classroom, we need parents who:
· Can meet during the school day to attend four, Friday morning meetings that last for 30 minutes to one hour.
· Can present in the classroom four times in the year for one hour
· Want to have fun learning something new and see kids truly engaged in art!
· Feel comfortable in the classroom with a team of parents – you won’t be alone!
· Need not know anything about art to volunteer – all the materials are provided.
If you would like your student exposed to this added learning experience in the arts, please consider volunteering. We have a new volunteer meeting scheduled at Indian Trail on September 11th from 10:30AM-11:30AM. This meeting will introduce you to Art in the Classroom. Attending this meeting will not commit you to the program. Please email Rebecca Glawe at glawer@usa.net, if you can attend. *If you cannot attend this meeting but are interested in learning more, please contact me, as well. Hope to see you there!
Note: Scheduling presentations during the year is not set yet, but will be flexible with volunteer and teacher schedules. We have plenty of working parents who participate, as well as dads, and grandparents.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Glawe
