NEW IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENT
Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, continues to occur in Illinois. In an effort to protect children from complications, and to help stop its spread, for school year 2012-2013 all students in grades 6 through 12 will be required to present proof of receiving a dose of Tdap (whooping cough booster).
If your student will be entering one of the grades affected (6-12), and hasn’t received a Tdap booster dose yet, please schedule an appointment with your provider. This can be given at the time of their required 6th grade physical. This will be due the first day of school, 2012.
Vaccines may also be available at Will County Immunization Clinic (815-740-8143). If your student has already received the booster dose, please give us a copy of the immunization record.

Box Tops for Physical Education
The Physical Education teachers at Hilda Walker Intermediate School will once again be collecting Box Tops for Education during the 2011-2012 school year. As you know the funds raised through out the year assist the Physical Education Department in supplementing equipment cost. Please send any Box Tops for Education that you may have with your child to give to their Physical Education teacher. Thank you for your continued support.
