Arrival and DismissalAUGUST 2010
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
The students did fabulous today on their first day of the school year. Thank you for getting them to school prepared and on time.
As you may have noticed we have made some changes to our arrival and dismissal procedure. Our goal is to keep our students safe during the process. Thank you for your patience as we work our system to make it both efficient and safe.
Dismissal procedures will be posted on our website in the very near future and will be sent home with your child tomorrow(Friday 8/20).
As a reminder we have a regular school day tomorrow. School begins at 8:50AM and dismissal is 3:20PM.

Beginning of the YearHello Arbury Hills Students and Parents:
Thank you to all students and families who were able to attend Student Orientation today, Wednesday August 11. There was a great turnout as parents and their children became familiarized with our school. Students were able to find their classrooms, deliver their school supplies and meet some of our staff.
If you were unable to join us please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions or concerns. Students may begin bringing their school supplies on the first day of school. Please send your child with the essentials and then slowly add a few items to their backpack each day for the first week or so.
You may now check your child's teacher and transportation information on PowerSchool. Transportation assignments always have a possibility of changing up to the last day before school so please continue to check their transportation assignment closer to the beginning of the first day of school.
I am looking forward to seeing all of our students on Thursday August 19th. Dont forget the first day of school ends at 12 noon!

Hello Arbury Hills students and parents:
I am so very excited to be joining the Arbury Hills family and look forward to meeting our current students and to welcoming our new students. Having been the Assistant Principal at Summit Hill Junior High School for the past two years I have become familiar with families from all over District 161. I truly look forward to working with the parents and children of the Arbury Hills School community.
As we look to the beginning of the school year please note the following important information:
Wednesday August 11, 2010: STUDENT ORIENTATION DAY. Students and their families are welcome to visit Arbury Hills School between 11:00AM and 2:00 PM. There will be a presentation at 12 noon in order to orientate you and your child to Arbury Hills School. If you are unable to attend please feel free to call or e-mail with questions.
Thursday August 19, 2010 - First day of school. Attendance is from 8:50 - 12:00 noon.
Friday August 20, 2010 - First FULL DAY of school. School hours are from 8:50AM - 3:20PM.
The regular school day is from 8:50AM - 3:20PM on M, W, Th, and Fr.
Early release is every TUESDAY.
Attendance on Tuesday's is 8:50AM - 3:05PM.
Wednesday September 1, 2010: OPEN HOUSE takes place in the evening between 7:00PM – 8:15PM. More information will follow closer to the date.
