Summit Hill 161 referendum projects conclude with sale of former district office
The sale of the former Summit Hill 161 administration building at 21133 South 80th Ave. in Frankfort was officially completed August 27.
Keith Pain, Superintendent, reported that the building sold at its appraised value of $1.19 million to the director of the Chicago Autism Academy which is located in Palos Heights.
The sale of the former administration building helped to pay for the $39M building project that included the two-story Summit Hill Jr. High opened in August 2007 along with a 12-classroom addition to Hilda Walker School, four new classrooms added to the Dr. Julian Rogus School, and the renovation of the former junior high into the present Mary Drew School and District Administrative Center.
“The sale marks the conclusion of the district’s 2005 referendum projects which provided additional classroom space in order to maintain quality educational services for our students,” said Supt. Pain. “Promises that were made have been kept. We have successfully built schools and completed renovations within budget and on time.”
